Muscat: Police in Oman have managed to bust an international drug syndicate's presence in Oman, arresting four individuals in Barka.
"The Department of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, led by the police of southern Batinah, arrested four people in Barka on charges of smuggling and possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and abusing them," Royal Oman Police (ROP) said.
"The investigation team received intel that the accused were involved with an international drug cartel, and so began following them," the police added.
"They were caught with 20 boxes of cannabis, 18,080 psychotropic tablets, four GPS devices, a Thuraya satellite phone and nine mobile phones," the police said.
