Muscat: The Sultanate has witnessed great commitment from the public in adhering to the Covid-19 precautionary measures, while a small number of violations have been reported, a top Royal Oman Police official said.
Major Muhammad bin Salam Al Hashami from the Public Relations Department of the Royal Oman Police said the public respected the decisions of the Supreme Committee especially those related to preventing gatherings.
“There is a great response by citizens and residents in wearing masks and physical distancing when entering the shops. There has also been a commitment and awareness by families not to participate in children when shopping, which is a positive thing and the application of the Supreme Committee’s decision related to preventing the movement of individuals and vehicles during the last period."
Al Hashami noted: "Recently, there has been a dearth in those violations recorded. Some violations were registered during the movement ban by those with unnecessary reasons.”
Major Al Hashami confirmed: "We are still in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, therefore we call on the society for more commitment and cooperation. This crisis can be resolved with the solidarity and cooperation of everyone by adhering to the precautionary measures and avoiding all kinds of gatherings."
“Adherence to precautionary measures is the best way to get out of the pandemic with the least damage, especially in the current situation in which new and mutated strains of the rapidly spreading virus have begun to appear, which confirms the need for adherence to precautionary measures to be a humanitarian duty and a national requirement, as the safety of everyone begins with the commitment of everyone on this earth,” he added.
