Muscat: Muscat Municipality has intensified its efforts aimed at handling the tropical weather condition (Cyclone Shaheen) which hit the Sultanate during the past few days.
Muscat Municipality has joined hands with the National Committee for Emergency Management and its affiliated committees in the governorates for working on setting a plan and for taking proactive steps for formation of work teams and provision of the necessary equipment.
The teams of Muscat Municipality in Muscat have intensified their efforts for remedial of the impacts of the exceptional weather conditions by immediate response to the most affected areas and to bring back to normal the services.
The efforts of the teams included opening of roads, remedial of blocked water pipelines and rain water drainage systems at some main and service roads and support of rescue efforts.
The technical and individual teams have also proceeded with cleaning and removal of debris, waste and removal of trees washed away by rainwater and fresh winds from residential areas and the roads leading to residential area among other efforts.
The teams were equipped with the necessary supplies and equipment in order to immediately respond to the calls and complaints from affected areas.
