Muscat: Under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Oman Post in collaboration with Oman Cricket, issued a new stamp commemorating Oman hosting its first ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021. The historic occasion marks the Sultanate’s rise in cricket on-and-off the field after hosting the curtain raiser among other matches for this international event at the lush green field of the Oman Cricket Academy Ground at Al Amerat.
Established in 2012, the 4,000-capacity venue enjoys picturesque views of Al Hajar Mountains, and has also witnessed many One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) tournaments to date.
The special stamp valued at one Omani Rial features an image of a cricket player swinging his bat, as well as the logos of the tournament and Oman Cricket.
In addition, the stamp’s sheet features images of the hosting ground of Oman Cricket Academy, alongside Oman’s flag and those of the participating nations. Once the new stamp is available for order or purchase, Oman Post will make an announcement on its social media platforms.
