Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has issued a circular No. 1/2021 on regulating the marketing of goods and services in commercial complexes and shopping places.
"According to what was observed with many licensed sellers and suppliers in commercial complexes and centres, they were seen harassing consumers to promote their goods and services, which contradicts the consumer’s right to free choice when selecting the commodity or receiving the service stipulated in Article (14) of the Consumer Protection Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 66/2014," CPA said in a statement.
The authority calls upon all suppliers not to carry out such practices. Violators of the above-mentioned law will be subject to legal accountability.
