Muscat: The Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has visited North Al Sharqiyah Governorate to inspect the efforts made to serve the consumers.
"His Excellency Sulayem bin Ali Al Hikmani, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority, recently visited North Al Sharqiyah Governorate to see the progress of work and the efforts exerted by the administration in the governorate in following up and monitoring the markets and ensuring the stability of goods and the commitment of suppliers to laws and legislation related to consumer protection," the authority said in a statement.
During the visit, the Chairman met with His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Governor of North Al Sharqiya. The most important issues related to consumer protection, the efforts made in monitoring and inspecting markets, and the complementary role between the various government institutions in the governorate were reviewed .
His Excellency also toured a number of popular markets and some commercial centres to determine their status and ensure their stability and not to exploit the conditions to raise prices, stressing the importance of the cooperation of suppliers through their commitment to laws and legislation that contribute to the stability of markets and non-exploitation out of the authority's keenness to provide a safe market to consumers.
