Oman, Saudi sign agreements aiming to enhance trade exchange

Muscat: Agreements have been signed between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the fields of business and standardisation seeking to enhance trade exchange between the two countries, said a Saudi official.

Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Dohani, Director General of Commerce at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, indicated that the memorandum of understanding between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on business comes with the aim of enhancing the level of trade exchange and overcoming all obstacles that hinder intra-regional trade between the two countries.

Emad bin Khamis Al Shukaili, Director General of Specifications and Metrology at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, explained that the Memorandum of Understanding on standardisation maximises the role of  specifications and metrology between the two brotherly countries and the future of these specifications to ensure the safety of imported products and raise the efficiency and performance of exported Omani products.

His Excellency Dr. Majid Al Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Minister of Information in charge of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said that the two memoranda of understanding seek to enhance trade exchange between the two countries, develop exports, support entrepreneurs and identify available investment opportunities.
