Muscat: An illegal operation involving the smuggling of five baby cheetahs and two lynx cubs has been foiled by teams from the Royal Oman Police.
“Four suspects, including citizens and others from the Gulf, were arrested, and they were in the possession of five young cheetahs and two lynxes,” said the country’s Environment Authority.
The ROP handed over the animals to the Directorate General of Environment in the Governorate of Dhofar, where they are receiving care. Meanwhile, legal proceedings against the accused are being completed.
