Drug smuggling attempt foiled in Oman

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), has seized 2,412 packages of khat from 5 people looking to smuggle it into Oman.

"Coast Guard police boats in the Governorate of Dhofar managed to seize two boats in two different locations in the Arabian Sea, carrying five infiltrators of Arab nationality, and in their possession 2,412 packages of khat. The legal procedures are being completed against the accused," ROP said in a statement.
