Wheat prices reach record high

Muscat: Wheat prices are witnessing a rise to record levels today, after India's decision to ban wheat exports.

The news centre said: "Wheat prices jumped to a record level today after India's decision to ban its exports due to the heat wave that affected production."

The price, which was already high since the start of the war in Ukraine, the main wheat exporter, jumped to about $453 a ton with the opening of the European market.
