Expats fined OMR 500 for selling used tires

Muscat: Expatriate workers were fined OMR 500 for selling and trading large quantities of used tires in the Wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Ali, South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

A statement issued online by Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) said: "For violating the authority’s decision No. 257/2015 regarding banning the circulation and sale of used tires, the Consumer Protection Department in South Al Sharqiyah imposed an administrative fine of OMR 500 and a preventive detention for expatriate workers who sell and trade large quantities of used tires in the Wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Ali. The seized tires are in preparation for destruction."
