Officials try to rescue 2 mountain climbers in Oman

Muscat: Rescue teams at the Civil Defence and Ambulance Department in the Governorate of Dhofar are dealing with a report of two people falling from the top of Samhan mountain while practicing mountain climbing.

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority said in its statement yesterday evening: “After it was not possible to reach the injured by helicopter due to the terrain and the difficulty of vision, the rescue and ambulance teams are working, in cooperation with trained volunteer teams of citizens, to reach the injured, as the area is characterised by its difficult mountainous terrain and unstable weather conditions. Research efforts are continuing."
