Low pressure to affect Oman from Tuesday
Muscat: The latest weather maps and analysis of the National Early Warning Centre of Multiple Hazards indicate that the skies of the northern Sultanate of Oman may be affected by a low pressure starting from Tuesday until Thursday.
The Civil Aviation Authority said that rain clouds are expected over the governorates of Musandam, North Al Batinah and Al Buraimi, with chances of rain of varying intensity, gradually extending to include the governorates of South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, Muscat and South Al Sharqiyah.
It stated that sporadic rains of varying intensity, ranging from 10 to 60 mm are expected to flood wadis on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Active downward winds are likely in the range of 15 and 25 knots , and the sea waves will be moderate to rough on the coasts of Musandam Governorate and the coasts of the Sea of Oman, and with maximum height ranging from two to three metres.
The Civil Aviation Authority calls on citizens and residents to take precautions during rains due to overflow of wadis, low horizontal visibility, and to check the state of the sea before venturing out and follow the weather bulletins regularly.
