Muscat: After three days of intensive search operations, the body of the citizen who went missing at sea has been found on the shores of Al Sharqiyah South Governorate on Monday, April 17, 2023 said the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

The Royal Oman Police confirmed that the body of the missing citizen was found on the coast of the Khuwaima area in the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali.

The Royal Air Force of Oman, in coordination with the Royal Oman Police, had conducted a search operation for the missing citizen at sea off Niyabat Al-Ashkhara (Khuwaima area) in the Al Sharqiyah South Governorate.

A relative of the deceased spoke to Times of Oman, he said that the young Adnan Al-Zar'ai, 22 years old, went to sea with a group of fishermen after breakfast on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at around 8 am.

 He continues: "His comrades returned at dawn on Friday the next day around 2 am, but Adnan was no longer with them in the fishing boat in which he went out, and the search operations began for him by the people and the Royal Air Force in coordination with the Royal Oman Police until his body was found today at around 5 am.”
