Muscat: Etihad Rail, the UAE National Rail Network developer and operator, has signed an agreement with Italian luxury hospitality company Arsenale to roll out "a luxury train experience that pays homage to Emirati culture and heritage." The luxury train will travel throughout the UAE towards the border with Oman.
According to Khaleej Times, the train will consist of 15 luxury carriages that will pass through the cosmopolitan cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, to the scenic destination of Fujairah, with its sheer mountains right on the border with Oman, and the Liwa desert, with its world-famous oasis, near Mezeiraa train station.
A statement issued online by Etihad Rail said: “As part of our efforts to provide the best and enhance cooperation with regional and international entities, Etihad Rail signed an MoU with Morocco’s National Railways Office (ONCF), to develop the UAE’s railway network through the exchange of knowledge and best practices.”
The statement pointed out that the agreement was signed by Shadi Malak, CEO of Etihad Rail, and Mohamed Rabie Khlie, General Director of the National Railways Office, during the Middle East Rial Exhibition and Conference 2023.
