Muscat: The tropical situation in the Arabian Sea weakened from a category 3 cyclone to a category 2 cyclone, and is moving towards India and Pakistan, said Oman Meteorology.
"The latest developments in the tropical state in the Arabian Sea are that the gradual weakening of the tropical state has begun and its classification declines to a second-category tropical cyclone with its movement and approach to the coasts of northern India and Pakistan," Oman Meteorology said in a statement.
According to the Meteorology, the cyclone is centered in the Arabian Sea at latitude 19.4 north and longitude 67.7 east. It is about 875 km from the coast of the Sultanate of Oman, and the wind speed around the centre is estimated to be from 84 to 90 knots.
