Muscat : The Ministry of Health (MOH), has signed on Sunday an agreement with Oman India Fertilizer Company (OMIFCO) and Oman Liquefied Natural Gas (Oman LNG) to fund the establishment of a dialysis unit project in Bidiyah Hospital, North Al Sharqiyah Governorate .
The agreement signing ceremony took place at Ministry headquarters and was signed by Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Mohammed Al Ajmi, Undersecretary of Health for Administrative, Planning, and Financial Affairs, Abdullah Humaid Salim Al Hashami, OMIFCO's Chief Financial Officer, and Dr. Amor Al Matani, Chief Executive Officer of Oman LNG Development Foundation, with the presence of H.E. Shiekh Mansoor Al Hajri, Member of Shura Council Representative of Bidiyah.
H.E. Dr. Al Ajmi stressed the importance of creating partnerships between the government and private sectors to achieve the public’s needs. She also praised the OMIFCO and Oman LNG initiative to finance the establishment of dialysis unit in Bidiyah Hospital.
H.E. Dr. Al Ajmi added that the signing of the agreement is part of strategic partnership to achieving community common good and upgrading the public welfare services and developmental projects across the Sultanate of Oman. She affirmed that the establishment of dialysis unit in Bidiyah was among Ministry’s top priority projects to serve the people of Ash Sharqiyah North Governorate.
Abdullah Humaid Salim Al Hashami, CFO, OMIFCO stated that the company is proud to collaborate with the Ministry of Health to support the establishment of a dialysis Unit in Bidiyah Hospital, which contributes to enhance the health services provided to patients with kidney failure in the North Ash Sharqiyah Governorate.

The signing of this agreement comes within OMIFCO's corporate social responsibility programs in the field of enhancing quality of life to support the health services sector, Al Hashami added, pointing out that the health services sector is one of the important and strategic sectors that OMIFCO supports continuously , and this agreement is a part of several national programs and projects that have been implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Health in the Sultanate.
Commenting on the agreement, Dr. Amor Al Matani, CEO of Oman LNG Development Foundation said; "Oman LNG has long prioritised the health sector as one of its key focuses, where this support intends to reflect the strategic partnership efforts between the company and the Ministry of Health.
Going further, the Kidney Dialysis Unit Refurbishment Project aims to provide the Unit with the most advanced technical services and cutting-edge medical equipment to accommodate more patients, ensure better healthcare provision and reduce waiting times.
This initiative complements Oman LNG's prior funding of the kidney dialysis units in Dhofar and Muscat".
