Innovations of 3 Omani youth shortlisted for ITEX Malaysia 2024

Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation today announced the three finalists to represent the Sultanate of Oman at the 35th international, invention, innovation, technology competition and exhibition in Malaysia (ITEX 2024) scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur from 16 to 18 May 2024.

First place was won by Imad Abdullah Bait Obaydoun (for his innovation titled “water treatment using the electrochemical method”), second place went to Mazin Rashid Al Badi (for his innovation titled “Doctor Robot”), while Tasnim Mohammed Al Daoudi won third place (for her innovation titled “Dilution of heavy oil using hydrogen injection technology”).

Nisreen Yahya Al Balushi, Assistant Director of the Department of Research and Innovation Capacity Building, said that ITEX constitutes Inventions and Innovations Market par excellence.

She added that the exhibition is an international platform to attract and explore new inventions and innovations from more than 20 countries in Asia and Europe. The event will showcase more than 1,000 inventions in different categories, she explained.
