Salalah: The shops selling Omani Halwa (sweet) are located at designated corners at Sahl Ateen in the Wilayat of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate.

These shops receive a large number of citizens and tourists during the Khareef Season from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman.

Omani Halwa makers from the various governorates arrive in Dhofar Governorate to sell their products during the Khareef season.

Halwa making is not just a business but it is also a passion, said one of the Halwa makers who spent over 30 years in this field. The traditional taste of the Omani Halwa is a priority in this field, he said, stressing compliance with the terms of using the healthy food substances in the making.

Khalfan Al Ghudhaib, owner of Al Ghudaib Omani Halwa Factory, described his first participation in the Khareef Dhofar season as successful as his outlet received a large number of customers.

Such projects encourage the participation of traditional crafts and industries during the Khareef season.

He said that the factory offers five types of Omani Halwa with different tastes.

Hatim bin Mohammed Al Mahrioqi, owner of the factory of Al Shuhra Omani Halwa and Al Jalilah sweet, said that the factory was established 35 years ago, in the Wilayat of Sinaw and later established 18 branches in various governorates.

A’arif bin Mohammed Al Kharousi, promotion and marketing manager at Al Diwaniya Omani Halwa making factory, said that they promote their products using Arabic cartography for writing the name of the customer or any other expression the customer may request on the product.

He said that their factory offers seven types of Omani Halwa. "We have 160 Omani employees in over 46 branches in the governorates of the Sultanate," he said.

Al Khattab bin Khamis Al Qasabi, Manager of the Salalah branch of Al Saifi Omani Halwa factory, said that the factory was established in 1973 and offers various types of Omani Halwa.

The Omanisation percentage at all branches of the factory is 100% and that they deal in making and sale of Halwa.
