Muscat: On Wednesday, the Board of Directors of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) held the 3ed meeting this year, headed by Khalid bin Mohammed Al Zubair, OOC Chairman, where a number of main items on the agenda and priority topics during the next stage were discussed; including the approval of the minutes of the 2nd Board of Directors meeting held on July 21, 2024, reviewing the decisions and recommendations issued by it, and reviewing the latest developments in the draft amendments to OOC statute.
The attendees also reviewed the letter received from the Olympic Council of Asia regarding the cancellation of the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which were supposed to be held in Thailand during the period from November 21 to 30, 2024.
The latest developments in OOC Museum project were also reviewed, which aims to document the history of Olympic sports in Oman, highlight the achievements of Omani athletes in various sports events, and provide an educational and interactive experience for visitors; It was noted that the museum is proceeding according to the planned schedule, with an expected opening by the end of this year.
The letter received from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth regarding the approved financial allocation for international participations for the current year was also reviewed and its contents were taken into account, and the auditor's report for the second quarter of this year was approved.
The meeting concluded with a review of the reports and letters received and a discussion of the topics included in the item of any new work.
