National campaign to raise awareness on climate change, tsunami to take place in Dhofar

Muscat: The National Emergency Management Committee, represented by the National Emergency Management Center, will be conducting a national campaign in Dhofar Governorate to raise awareness about weather conditions, climate and tsunami risks. The campaign will take place from next Sunday until October 7.

The campaign will target the local, educational, economic, and security communities through meetings, seminars, practical exercises, an exhibition, and other events. The goal is to raise community awareness and introduce the early warning system for multiple hazards.

The campaign is being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Information, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority, the Office of the Governor of Dhofar, the Directorate General of Education, the Directorate General of Social Development, and the Youth Center in Salalah.
