Muscat : The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology(MTCIT) announced the provision of 1,728 jobs in various specialisations and fields of information and communications technology until the third quarter of 2024.
The job opportunities include 33 professions distributed between leadership, specialised and technical positions. Omanis obtained 80 percent of these jobs, while expatriates obtained 20 percent .
As a result of the efforts made by the Ministry towards Omanising jobs and increasing the employment of Omanis in the labour market in the communications and information technology sector. The percentage of the workforce of Omanis increased during the years 2023 and 2024 from 49.71 percent to 62.02 percent , with a significant decrease in the percentage of expatriates to 37.98 percent .
It is noteworthy that the Ministry has employed approximately 226 Omanis since the launch of the National Initiative to Qualify National Competencies (Makin).
