Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is expected to experience a weather trough from Tuesday, 25 February 2025, continuing for several days.
Oman Meteorology stated: "The latest weather maps and numerical forecasts indicate that the Sultanate of Oman will be affected by a depression starting Tuesday and persisting for several days. There is a likelihood of cloud formation and scattered rainfall over Musandam Governorate, the Al Hajar Mountains, and parts of the Sea of Oman’s coastline."
North to northwesterly winds are forecast to sweep across most governorates, bringing active gusts that could lead to rising dust and sand, a significant drop in temperatures, and high sea waves.
Strong north to northwesterly winds are anticipated from Tuesday across all governorates, leading to rough sea conditions. Wave heights on the western coast of Musandam Governorate are expected to reach between 2.5 and 3.0 metres, while the rest of Oman's coastline will experience moderate waves between 1.5 and 2.0 metres.
