CBO refutes claims of bank electronic system hack

Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) has refuted a circulating rumour regarding a hacking incident targeting the electronic systems of banks within the country. In a statement, the CBO clarified that the information being shared is false and inaccurate. The bank affirmed that all banking systems are operating with complete security and have not been compromised by any hacking attempts.

The Central Bank of Oman has further urged the public to rely solely on official sources for information.

CBO said in a statement :"In light of the circulating information about a hack of banks' electronic systems, the Central Bank of Oman would like to point out that the information circulating is false and inaccurate. It confirms that banking systems operate completely securely and have not been subjected to any hacking."

"The Central Bank of Oman urges everyone to obtain information from official sources," the statement added.
