CDAA affirms its readiness for Khareef Dhofar 2025

Muscat : The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) has affirmed its readiness to provide services to citizens, residents and visitors during the 2025 Khareef Dhofar season.

The Authority stated that it has approved its operational plans for the season, which include strengthening existing centers and establishing additional points on roads leading to Dhofar Governorate in the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, and Al Wusta, to respond immediately to reports received through the Operations Center and Civil Defense and Ambulance Centers in the governorates.

The Authority called on institutions, companies, and property owners to adhere to safety and civil protection requirements by carrying out necessary maintenance on facilities and following preventive measures that contribute to reducing accidents.

The Authority will also intensify its oversight efforts by inspecting facilities, detecting violations, and taking appropriate legal action against them.

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority continuously seeks to raise awareness among all segments of society through its official social media platforms and various media outlets, by distributing awareness brochures, organising events, and deploying field teams to provide awareness and guidance in various locations. The Authority commends the prominent role played by the media in promoting a culture of prevention.

The Authority urges visitors to the Khareef season to adhere to safety guidelines during their visit to Dhofar Governorate and to prepare well for the trip by maintaining their vehicle, carrying a first aid kit, ensuring the fire extinguisher is in good working order, identifying rest stops and fuel stations along the route, choosing the appropriate time to travel, stopping to rest when feeling tired or exhausted, and strictly adhering to traffic safety rules.

The Authority also stressed the importance of following safety instructions while staying in Dhofar Governorate, and avoiding swimming in undesignated areas, such as springs, pools, and beaches, due to the danger of sea currents and high waves during the autumn season. It also stressed the need to stay away from dangerous locations, including waterfalls and highlands, and to supervise children and not leave them alone in vehicles, to ensure everyone's safety.
