MTCIT launches 3rd Edition of Best Practices Award in logistics sector

Muscat: As part of efforts to develop the logistics sector and strengthen its role as a key driver of economic growth and diversification of national income sources, the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology represented by the Oman Logistics Center and in collaboration with the Oman Logistics Association has announced the launch of the third edition of the Best Practices Award in the Logistics Sector for the year 2026. 

The award aims to improve the sector’s efficiency and boost its competitiveness at both regional and global levels, in alignment with Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to position the Sultanate as a global logistics hub through infrastructure development and the adoption of modern best practices in this vital field.

Enhancing Competitiveness
The award seeks to honor the best practices and innovative projects across all logistics activities carried out over the past twelve months. It aims to foster a spirit of positive competition and encourage innovation and excellence in this vital sector. The award covers various logistics activities such as warehousing and storage, shipping line and vessel agents, air, sea, and land transport, customs clearance, ports and free zones, ground handling, and freight forwarding.

Award Categories
The award includes five main categories:

- Omanisation: Recognizing the best policies and procedures in employing and developing Omani talent.

- Health and Safety: Highlighting initiatives that have promoted a safety culture and reduced accidents and risks.

-Net Zero: Honoring projects that contributed to reducing emissions and waste and optimizing energy consumption.

- Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Celebrating practices and technologies that enhanced operational efficiency and productivity.

- Omani Products and Services: Acknowledging companies that supported local supply chains and small and medium enterprises.

Applications will be evaluated by an independent judging panel composed of leading specialists and experts in the logistics sector to ensure transparency and credibility in selecting the winners. Companies and institutions can register via the official website: (http://www.logistics-bpa.com)
