Sohar International signs MoU with Dar Al Atta’a to support Tamkeen Training Program

Muscat: Reaffirming its commitment to fostering socio-economic development through impactful community partnerships, Sohar International has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dar Al Atta’a to expand opportunities for Omani job seekers through specialized training in the healthcare sector under the Tamkeen Training Program. The collaboration underscores the bank’s continued efforts to enhance education, skill development, and sustainable employment across key national sectors. The agreement was signed between Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, founder and chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a Association and Mazin Mahmood Al Raisi, Chief Marketing Officer of Sohar International.

Commenting on the partnership, Mazin Mahmood Al Raisi stated, “At Sohar International, our purpose extends beyond financial services—it lies in creating meaningful opportunities that enable individuals to thrive while strengthening communities. This collaboration with Dar Al Atta’a reinforces our commitment to national capacity building and social advancement, both of which are integral to the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. By supporting initiatives that blend education with employability, we aim to transform potential into progress—enabling people to develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in a dynamic economy. Investing in learning is, ultimately, an investment in the nation’s future.”

Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali added, “This partnership with Sohar International allows us to take a significant step forward in empowering Omani youth through sustainable skill development. The Tamkeen Training Program is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and professional qualifications that open doors to meaningful employment, contributing directly to stronger families and more resilient communities. Together, we are creating opportunities that not only transform lives but also support the nation’s social and economic progress.”

The Tamkeen Training Program is an educational initiative aimed at equipping Omani job seekers with certified training and academic qualifications in the healthcare sector. Designed to empower 25 selected individuals from families registered with Dar Al Atta’a, the program focuses on developing practical expertise and enhancing employability through structured, hands-on learning experiences. Participants will undergo specialized training across three disciplines—Multi-Disciplinary Health Assistant, Dental Health Assistant, and Sterilization Specialist—with course durations ranging from six to seven months and totaling 660 to 920 instructional hours. By bridging education with industry requirements, the initiative seeks to create sustainable income opportunities and contribute to the nation’s healthcare readiness.

Aligned with Oman’s broader social development objectives, the Tamkeen Training Program reflects a shared commitment between Sohar International and Dar Al Atta’a to empower individuals, nurture local talent, and promote long-term self-sufficiency. Through this partnership, Sohar International continues to translate its corporate responsibility into tangible outcomes — driving inclusive growth, fostering social resilience, and reinforcing the values of opportunity and progress that define its community engagement efforts.

Sohar International continues to reaffirm its role as a purpose-driven institution contributing to Oman’s long-term development narrative. The bank remains focused on fostering meaningful partnerships that drive sustainable growth and enduring community impact.
