
Muscat: The Ministry of Education is holding an annual meeting for directors and heads of departments of private schools in Omani governorates’ educational directorates.
The opening ceremony of the 5-day meeting was held today under the auspices of Majid Said Al Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
The meeting aims to exchange expertise in the field of private school education, review local and international success stories and promote integration among government and private institutions to ensure the sustainability of quality and raise the efficiency of the educational system.
The meeting will discuss common challenges facing private schools, present government initiatives related to private education, regulatory requirements, licensing laws and quality projects. It will also deal with ways to develop educational environment in a manner that makes it safe, motivating and supportive to students, teachers and school administrations.
In addition, the meeting will also review international experiences in the fields of infrastructure, curricula, child protection, disability-inclusive education and school governance.
The meeting will study 25 working papers on means of improving private education and providing a safe environment that ensures the balanced growth of students, in addition to enhancing knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern the educational process in private schools.
