Muscat: The Directorate of Relations and Security Information at the Royal Oman Police has announced a partial traffic closure on Saturday, 14 February 2026, in the Wilayat of Qurum, coinciding with the hosting of the Ironman World Championship in Muscat Governorate.

The championship includes swimming, cycling, and running competitions, with the cycling race covering several major roads and landmarks across the capital. Royal Oman Police confirmed that parking will be prohibited on both sides of roads adjacent to the race route to ensure participant safety and facilitate smooth event operations.
According to the announced route, the bicycle race will begin behind the Ministry of Foreign and pass key locations including the area surrounding the Royal Opera House Muscat, the Ministries District, and the Cultural Roundabout. The course will then extend along Sultan Qaboos Street through Qurum–Darsait Road toward Muttrah Corniche, passing Muscat Gate and Al Alam area toward Al Bustan.

The route continues through Wadi Kabir, Darsait Bridge, and Ruwi Bridge, extending toward Wadi Adai Bridge and Wilayat Al Amerat before looping back to Qurum through Al Wadiya and finishing at the starting point near the Royal Opera House.

The Royal Oman Police urged motorists to follow traffic guidance, avoid the affected roads during the event hours, and cooperate with on-ground personnel to ensure public safety and the success of the international sporting event.
