Muscat: The Omani–Bahraini Bazaar Exhibition opened this evening in Muscat and will run until 28 February, as part of efforts to strengthen fraternal ties and advance economic integration between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The exhibition is organised by the Embassy of Bahrain in Oman in cooperation with the Omani–Bahraini Friendship Association, under the patronage of H.E. Ghalib bin Said Al Maamari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry.
The event reflects the longstanding historical relations between the two countries and their peoples, translating the leaderships’ directives to deepen bilateral cooperation across various sectors and enhance coordination toward economic integration.
The exhibition aims to boost trade exchange by opening direct marketing channels between producers and consumers, while supporting entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises through a platform to showcase their products and services. It also promotes the exchange of expertise in production, marketing and business management, highlights the cultural and heritage diversity of both countries, and creates opportunities for future investment partnerships.
The exhibition further aligns with Oman Vision 2040 and Bahrain Vision 2030 by emphasising the role of SMEs in supporting economic development and opening new markets for national products.
Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Oman, said the exhibition reflects Bahrain’s commitment to supporting SMEs and enhancing their contribution to the national economy. He noted that the event implements the directives of the leaderships in both countries and follows up on the outcomes of the joint Bahraini–Omani committee and signed memoranda of understanding.
He added that the steadily growing Bahraini–Omani relations—particularly in trade and SME partnerships—represent a model of cooperation among brotherly nations and expressed hope for more joint initiatives in the future.
For her part, Rodaina bint Amer Al Hajriya, Chairperson of the Omani–Bahraini Friendship Association, said the exhibition is the result of close coordination between the embassy and the association and comes within its priorities to organise economic events that support SMEs and stimulate commercial activity between the two countries.
Around 30 exhibitors are participating in the event, including 20 from Oman and 10 from Bahrain, presenting a variety of products such as fashion, perfumes, incense, Omani frankincense, traditional sweets, accessories, heritage crafts and household items—reflecting the cultural and environmental diversity of both nations.
The opening ceremony was attended by Bahrain’s ambassador, a number of officials, board members of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to Oman, members of civil society, local media and members of the Bahraini community in Muscat.
