CBSE again postpones Class XII exam in Oman, Middle East

Muscat: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed Class XII board examinations scheduled in several Middle East countries following a review of the prevailing situation in the region.

From Oman more than 2,200 students are appearing for the exams.

According to a circular issued on March 9, 2026, the board has decided to postpone the exams that were scheduled to take place from March 12, 2026 (Thursday) to March 16, 2026 (Monday).

The decision applies to CBSE-affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The board stated that the move was taken after a “critical review of the current situation” in these countries and considering the uncertainties and mental stress faced by students.

CBSE also said that new examination dates will be announced later.

The board will further review the situation on March 14, 2026, and take appropriate decisions regarding the remaining examinations scheduled from March 16 onwards.
