Muscat: The Royal Oman Police has announced the temporary closure of the Amerat–Bawshar Road as a precautionary measure due to expected heavy rainfall in the coming hours.
In a statement, the authorities urged motorists to use alternative routes until further notice, emphasising that the decision was taken to ensure public safety amid potentially hazardous weather conditions.
The police also called on drivers to strictly adhere to safe driving guidelines during rainfall, including reducing speed, maintaining a safe distance between vehicles, and avoiding crossing flooded valleys and low-lying areas.
The advisory comes as weather conditions across parts of the Sultanate of Oman are expected to deteriorate, with forecasts indicating intense rainfall that could reduce visibility and create dangerous road conditions.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and have urged the public to stay updated through official channels for further announcements.
