Agreement for higher wages for nationals signed in Dhofar

Dhofar: Minimum wages for the national workforce are set to increase as the Directorate General of Manpower in Dhofar has signed agreements with a couple of companies to raise their salaries. The Directorate General of Manpower, representing the Ministry of Manpower, in the Dhofar Governorate has signed agreements with OCTAL SAOC FZC and the Arak Clothing Production Company in Dhofar to raise the minimum wage of its Omani employees.

Their minimum monthly wage will be raised to OMR400 starting from this month.
Commenting on the agreement, Khalid Mohammad Al Rawahi, director general of Manpower in Dhofar said, “This step is part of the ministry’s effort to improve the work environment in the public sector, as well as the partnership and cooperation between the ministry and the private sector, with a view to providing an attractive work environment for Omani youth.”
