Oman consumer protector's fine collections from businesses cross OMR1.7 million

Muscat: More than OMR1.7 million in fines have been collected by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) from all its departments in the Sultanate.
Since the establishment of PACP in 2011, OMR1,764,183 had been collected by the authority until mid-2016, according to its data.
The latest report of the PACP indicated that PACP collected OMR87,388.5 in a year after its establishment in 2012, followed by OMR4,56,760 the following year from traders and business heads.
Collections
In 2014, they collected around OMR3,37,015.7, while OMR3,70,150 was collected in 2015. Until the middle of 2016, PACP had collected OMR5,03,870. c
