Muscat Municipality discusses Muttrah fish market project

Muscat: Location of the new Muttrah Fish Market and waste disposal of criteria and measures were the focus of a presentation made on Monday.
Earlier the Muscat Municipality Council opened, its second meeting for the year with the presentation on the new Muttrah Fish Market Project.
The presentation was delivered by Nasser bin Ali Al Hinai, Director General of Technical Affairs at Muscat Municipality. Mohsin bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, chairman of Muscat Municipality and members of the council were acquainted with the details of the project.
The presentation dealt with the location of the project near Port Sultan Qaboos.
The project comprises outlets for sales of fish and other outlets for sales of vegetables, fruits and meat . The project also includes a restaurant and a coffee shop.
The project was awarded to a leading company specialised in management and operation of fish and vegetable markets.
The meeting also discussed the criteria and measures to be followed for disposal of liquid and solid waste.
The meeting approved the minutes of the tenth meeting of the Council held in 2016 and the minutes of the first meeting for 2017.
