Muscat: The Research Council (TRC) announced that December 31st will be the deadline for submission of applications for the second version of the Water Research and Innovation Award.
The award aims at enhancing the role of scientific research and innovation in finding solutions to water issues and raising awareness of the fields of water resources management in the Sultanate in different segments of society. The award is divided into two main categories: The first is the scientific publishing category, which includes doctoral researchers and non-PhD young researchers.
The second category is the category of innovations in the field of water and includes the Department of Innovation, Junior Innovator. The value of the combined awards amount to OMR20,000 distributed to all winners of the competition.
The award comes in line with the recommendations of the Third Symposium of the Sultan Qaboos Scientific Chairs organised by Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science in October 2014 at the University of Tokyo, Japan. — ONA
The coming stage of the award will include the process of screening and evaluation of the participating projects during the period of January and February 2018.
The results will be announced in March 2018.
The award is organised by the TRC and the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
