KPMG tax trainee associate secures highest marks in Oman

Muscat: Afaf Alnaemi, a tax trainee associate at KPMG Oman, has obtained the highest marks in Oman in the ACCA F8 Audit and Assurance paper held in December 2017. Lindsay Degouve De Nuncques, Head of ACCA Middle East, presented Afaf with a prize for this outstanding achievement.
Afaf holds a bachelor degree in accounting and joined KPMG Oman in December 2015. She provides tax compliance services to various local and multinational companies operating in Oman.
Speaking about her performance, Afaf said: “My preparation for the Audit & Assurance paper taught me the skills necessary to succeed in the other ACCA papers. The subject is also very relevant for me as it provided me with an understanding of the principles of accounting, critical for my role as a tax associate. Furthermore, it has a strong focus on professional values, ethics and governance in accounting, which makes it very relevant for organisations today."
"Armed with this success, I hope to complete the remaining papers as well and hope to be able to make a valuable contribution in the professional accountancy space, especially in the wake of a number of impending tax and regulatory changes in the Sultanate,” she added.
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is a global professional accounting body that offers the Chartered Certified Accountant qualification. The ACCA qualification helps audit professionals prepare themselves to take on a range of opportunities available in the profession and for leadership roles.
