Praying at Masjid Asmaa Bint Alawi Al Jamal Al Leil is nothing short of a trip to an ancient palace. People admire this place as it lends a sense of true luxury.
Located in the posh neighbourhood of Madinat Al Ilam, the architectural masterpiece commonly known as Asmaa mosque was built in 1986 by Qais Al Zawawi and his siblings, and named after their beloved mother Asmaa.
What makes this mosque special is that every detail is crafted to perfection, from its green zigzag-patterned floor, to its gigantic star-shaped fountain, tiny green lamps scattered around the mosque, gilded dome, and beautiful palm trees. It’s what we call a ‘holy wonderland’.
*This mosque has a Ladies’ Prayer Hall.

Health Tips
Go for Low Fat Dairy
Dairy products are loved by almost everyone as they are part of our daily eating habits and pack tonnes of nutrients such as calcium, vitamin D, and potassium, which are fundamental for healthy teeth and bones. Though they are essential, they can also be disadvantageous when consumed obsessively, as it contains a problematic protein called Casein, as well as lots of calories. So, for Ramadan, opt for low fat versions of milk, yoghurt, cheese, and the local staple, laban.
