​Customer receives OMR10,600 refund from car dealership

Muscat: A customer in South Sharqiyah received a OMR10,600 refund after buying a car with a defect, with the help of the Public Authority for Consumer Protection.

A statement by PACP read, "The directorate in South Sharqiyah was able to reclaim more than OMR10,000 for customer in a friendly settlement.

"A complaint was received against a dealership after the customer bought the vehicle and, after using it for a period, began to notice a noise that came from the sunroof. Upon contacting the dealership, it was repaired but the noise would persist."

The customer then complained to PACP.

"The directorate of PACP in South Sharqiyah investigated the incident and contacted the dealership, which agreed to recall the vehicle and return a sum of OMR10,600 to its owner in a friendly settlement," the statement added.
