Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4425.45 points, down by 0.63 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 602.71 points, down by 0.60 per cent. Asaffa Foods was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Bank Dhofar Right Issue 2018, up by 33.33 per cent while the top loser was Al Hassan Engineering which closed lower by 25 per cent.
A total number of 317 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR5 million with more than 18.25 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded stocks, 5 advanced, 14 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR 60,000, followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR4,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR64,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.27 per cent to at 6,931.24 points. There were no gainers. Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Madina Investment, Muscat Finance, Bank Nizwa, and Al Sharqia Investment Holding were down by 2.63 per cent, 2.56 per cent, 1.18 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 1.1 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.24 per cent to close at 5,295.45 points. National Biscuit Industries closed up by 0.51 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles was down by 3.7 per cent.
Services Index lost 0.97 per cent to close at 2,363.09 points. Oman Education & Training, Majan College, and Dhofar Generating Company were up by 10 per cent, 2.41 per cent and 1.4 per cent respectively. Al Jazeera Services, OIFC, Sembcorp Salalah, Omantel, and Ooredoo were down by 4.96 per cent, 4.65 per cent, 3.65 per cent, 1.9 per cent, and 1.43 per cent respectively.
