​More than 200 illegal workers arrested in Oman

Muscat: A total of 203 illegal workers from different parts of Muscat have been arrested, the Ministry of Manpower has announced.

According to the ministry, 55 of those arrested were working as car cleaners in public places.

In a statement online, the ministry said, “The Directorate General of Labour Welfare carried out a number of inspection campaigns in January and arrested 203 illegal workers, including 55 workers who were cleaning cars in public places as well as 148 expats who worked as vendors in Mawaleh Central Market for Vegetables and Fruit."
