Muscat: The Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs has advised muezzin’s to get the permits to move during the night lockdown.
A statement issued online by Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs said:”Pursuant to the decision of the Supreme Committee in charge to deal with COVID-19, which includes the night-time closure of commercial activities and the prevention of movement of individuals and vehicles from 8 pm to 5 am, starting from March 28 to April 8, accordingly, the Ministry issued the permits of muezzin’s to all those who are registered with it on raising the call to prayer in mosques, and it was sent electronically.”
“The Ministry instructs the necessity to adapt the performance of the Fajr and Isha prayers in accordance with the above-mentioned Supreme Committee decision,” the statement added
