Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman has urged people not to provide any banking or personal information to any source or entity.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA), said: "The Central Bank of Oman stated that all licensed banks operating in the Sultanate or exchange companies do not request any banking information such as passwords, bank card number, or account number, either by calling or through various social media or by sending text messages requesting direct entry through specific links. In this regard, the bank indicated that whoever is exposed to such messages or communications must inform the competent authorities represented by the Royal Oman Police or the banking authority through the official methods of communication of that body.”
