"Dhofar Municipality, represented by the Food Control Department in the Department of Health Affairs, continues inspection visits to restaurants and stores selling food products, vegetables and fruits, to ensure that they adhere to health requirements and follow healthy methods in food handling, including measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19," Dhofar Municipality said in a statement.
"The inspection teams monitored a number of violations, in which 37 shops were fined, and 11 others were closed, as quantities of food displayed were destroyed due to them being unfit for human consumption," Dhofar Municipality added.
