Thunderstorms, flash floods predicted in Oman

Muscat: Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas may witness thunderstorms accompanied by downdraft wind and there may be flash floods too on Tuesday, Oman Meteorology said

"The weather will be clear to partly cloudy skies along the coastal areas of Dhofar Governorate and the adjoining mountains. There will be mainly clear skies over the rest of Oman along with chances of medium and high clouds advection. Convective cloud formation and thunderstorms associated with downward wind and may cause flash floods in Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas towards the afternoon and evening," Oman Meteorology said in its daily weather forecast for Tuesday.

Oman Meteorology added that low-level clouds or fog patches are likely over the coastal areas of Arabian Sea and Oman Sea from late night to early morning.
