Muscat: Two expats have been arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP), for smuggling and possessing narcotic substances.
"The General Department for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control was able to arrest two expatriates on charges of smuggling and possessing narcotic substances after monitoring and following up one of them during his infiltration into Oman by sea. He was arrested when trying to hand over the smuggled drug to an expatriate. 48 kilograms of crystal and hashish, and 627 tablets of psychotropic substances were seized from them. Legal procedures are being completed against them," ROP said in a statement.
