Youth Sada launches the fourth cycle of Al Dhahirah Leadership Forum in partnership with bp Oman

Muscat: In partnership with bp Oman, Youth Sada launched their fourth cycle of the Al Dhahirah Leadership Forum. This cycle covers topics related to Environment and Natural Resources, a key priority in Oman vision 2040 with five main fields: food and water security, renewable energy, natural resources, green circular economy and mining and quarry.

The Forum includes three main phases which are the general programme, the specialised programme and the school programme. The general programme included 420 participants and included several educational workshops, lectures and discussion-based sessions around the Environment which was presented by experts. The upcoming specialised programme will target business owners and initiative leaders around environment sustainability and initiatives that utilize or manage natural resources with the support of experts and consultants to further develop their projects.

Shamsa Al-Rawahi, bp Oman Social Investment Manager, commented: “This forum supports our aim of developing the capabilities of young Omanis to help implement Oman’s 2040 vision. The forum provides a supportive environment that allows the young generation to share and build on their ideas, knowledge and skills. Not only will this improve their ability to think innovatively, but it will also give them opportunities to learn from key experts to build their initiatives and support growth around sustainability.”

Qais Al Maqrashi, Chief Executive Officer at Youth Sada, added: “The fourth Al Dhahirah Leadership Forum aligns with the Sultanate’s directions on allowing our young generation to contribute towards our nation’s growth strategy by presenting new creative initiatives within our communities. We hope that with the forum we can come up with great projects that contribute towards our country’s environment sustainability, efficient utilization of our natural resources, and finding ecological solutions which in turn will support our national economy and sustainable production.”

The forum will also take the participants on several site visits to observe current sustainable projects and initiatives available. The forum will also include a competition which will recognize the best three business ideas around environment and sustainability.
