Muscat: Women’s Wing of Bangladesh Social Club Oman celebrated International Women’s Day in a festive atmosphere on 10 March, 2023.
Bangladesh Social Club Women’s wing observed international women’s day at Halban Garden in presence of hundreds of women in different professions along with their families and guests.
Members of Women’s Wing displayed Bangladeshi traditional “Pitha Utsab” by making and displaying different types of traditional Pitha (Cake).
Moreover, Bangladeshi women’s traditional games like pillow passing, musical chair, blind hit also took place on the occasion.
Sirajul Hoque, Chairman of the Club welcomed all the participants.
Dr. Jannatun Nayem Juwi convenor of Women’s Wing anchored the event. Iftakher Chowdhury, CEO, Gulf Exchange as Chief Guest and Shariful Islam Country Manager, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, attended the event as special guest.
Members of the Executive Committee, former officials of Bangladesh Social Club Oman, renowned businessman and Bangladeshi community leaders also attended the programme.
Before ending the programme Social Club Chairman handed over a farewell memento to Mahbubul Alam Sikder, the former Club executive member, who worked here for last 44 years and served the community.
