Muscat : The Sultanate of Oman may be affected by an air trough for five days from Sunday, March 19,2023 until Thursday March 23,2023,the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), said on Friday .
The latest weather updates and analysis of the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre indicates that an upper air trough is likely to affect the Sultanate of Oman starting from Sunday 19th of March 2023 until Thursday 23rd of March 2023 .
Clouds advection, isolated rain and occasional thundershowers are expected in parts of the Governorates of Dhofar and Al Wusta starting from Sunday evening . The impact will extend , from Monday evening , to cover the rest of the governorates .
The expected impacts of the weather condition are :
1. Isolated rainfall , occasional thundershowers which might lead to the flowing of wadis
2. Fresh associated winds with speed of 15 to 25 kt ( 28-45km / h ) .
3. Sea state will be moderate to rough along most of the coasts with maximum wave height ranging between 2-3 meters.
CAA advices all to take necessary precautions during rainfall like checking visibility and sea state before sailing and also to follow the issued weather bulletins and reports .
