Muscat: The sixth edition of The Zubair Corporation (TZC) Ramadan Football League concluded on Sunday evening, 16 April, with Zubair Automotive Group winning with two goals to Oman Computer Services' one. A large number of TZC employees and their families attended the finals match, which was held at the Goal One Stadium in Azaiba. Al-Zubair Muhammad Al-Zubair, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of TZC, Hussam Muhammad Al-Zubair, Member of the Board of Directors, and Niels Bormans, CEO of TZC, were also in attendance.
Commenting on the result, Sultan Al Gaithi, CEO of ARA Petroleum, the tournament sponsor, said: “Congratulations to General Automotive Company on winning first place this year. It is well deserved, following their outstanding performance throughout the tournament. The team worked hard right from the very beginning and demonstrated a high level of teamwork and harmony in every match they played.”
The tournament was launched at the beginning of Ramadan with the participation of ten teams divided into two groups. The first group comprised Oman Computer Services (OCS Infotech), Bait Al Zubair, ELCO International Engineering Co., Zubair Automotive Group, and Federal Power Transformers. The second group included Oman Oasis, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Zubair Electric, ARA Petroleum, and Oman Oil Industry Supplies & Services Co.
Zubair Automotive Group and OCS Infotech ultimately reached the finals, with the former team emerging victorious after scoring two goals against their opponent's one in a highly competitive match.
Al Gaithi added, “We are pleased with the success of the 6th edition of the Al Zubair Corporation Annual Ramadan League, aimed at enhancing communication between employees from its subsidiaries. It was also a pleasure to have ARA Petroleum sponsoring the tournament this year. The organizing team must also be commended for putting together a flawless event. The participating teams were applauded for their sportsmanship and for keeping the audience entertained with fair and impressive performances. We are now looking forward in anticipation for the tournament's next edition.
